Massive deforestation event is observed from high resolution satellite data during period of 2019-2026. An estimated 66.58 ha natural forest tree cover has been ruthlessly cut down across 13 hotspot locations near Jatkool village, Sheringal area, Upper Dir. Forest tree cover to bare soil land will definitely leads towards ecological degradation affecting local fauna, habitat loss, an increased susceptibility towards natural hazards like land slides, soil and water erosion and more significantly loss to local biodiversity.
