The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) is providing satellite-based support to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the National Winter Contingency Plan (October–December 2025) to strengthen preparedness and response to winter-related hazards across Pakistan. As part of rescue operations and early warning efforts, SUPARCO will supply satellite imagery and assessments of projected developments, including pre-, during-, and post-season snow cover and its impacts, to support informed decision-making. The Commission will also share imagery of evolving situations on a daily basis or as soon as data becomes available, enhancing NDMA’s capacity to manage risks associated with snowfall, avalanches, cold waves, fog, smog, landslides, and other winter emergencies, in line with national disaster resilience objectives.
